Check out these mistakes to avoid so that you can have the most eye-catching and captivating hair around.

Before you begin…

Using a flat iron on your hair should be easy, right? Just turn it on and go to town on your hair? Wrong. The process of straightening your hair the correct way should begin long before you plug your hair tools in. Haircare should start with giving your hair all of the nutrients and hydration that it needs to maintain its natural glow.
There are a few things that you should focus on. First, make sure that you are using the right shampoo and conditioner. You want to use something that doesn’t strip your hair of all of the natural oils that protect your hair. Using a hair serum like our Diamond Drops hair serum will also keep your hair healthy. Use these products daily. Now on to the styling!

Not Pre-treating Your Hair

Once you clean your hair and give it some much-needed hydration you can go about styling your hair. Make sure that your hair is completely dry (read our next point). Before you straighten your hair with our line of ceramic ionic hair tools, you will want to pre-treat your hair with a heat protectant spray. This will keep your hair from heat damage.

You Flat IRON Wet or Damp Hair

Have you ever straightened wet or damp hair and heard cracks, pops, and sizzles? Yeah, that’s not good. You always want to make sure that your hair is completely dry before you use a flat iron. Our professional-quality blow dryers should get the job done even for the thickest hair!

Using the Hottest Setting

Sometimes when we’re running late, it can be tempting to use the hottest heat setting on our hair tools just to get the job done quickly. That being said you should never use the hottest setting on your hair tools. Most hair tools heat to 450 degrees Fahrenheit which can damage your hair. It is recommended that you use the heat of around 300 degrees or so to be safe. But how will you know what temperature setting you are using?
Brilliance New York’s line of flat irons come with a digital temperature display and easy to use heat setting to make sure that you always get the most brilliant hairstyles. without damaging your hair.
